A Wonderful Day of Giving Thanks . . .

Thanksgiving is a day to reflect on how thankful we are for what we have. At Small Hope we are thankful for this beautiful island of Andros; our fantastic guests; and of course, the exquisite feasts our kitchen prepares for us!

Check out the spread for this past Thanksgiving: Roast turkey, smoked turkey, whole roasted pig, jerk and Carolina ribs, lobster, shrimp salad, stuffing, mashed potatoes . . . and then DESSERT. 23 mouth-watering desserts like pumpkin pie, macaroons, ginger snap cookies, red velvet cupcakes, guava creme brulee, and chocolate lava cake, to name a few.

We serve feasts like this 4 times a year - US Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve, and Easter. Book your holiday now so you can enjoy the holidays with us! Pin It Now!

Island-Style Thanksgiving at Small Hope Bay Lodge

Celebrating the holidays abroad can be a real treat! Enjoy all the great food, as well as being with great family and friends, without ever having to do the dishes!

At Small Hope we celebrate 4 holidays with incredible style. US Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, and Easter. On these days we make huge feasts and have great parties.

This Thanksgiving was no exception. Our fantastic kitchen staff created a delicious blend of classic Thanksgiving fare with traditional Bahamian dishes. Not only savory dishes, but a plethora of tasty desserts, too! Here is just a taste of what we had: Rosemary baked turkey, Honey glazed ham, Sage and sausage stuffing, Grouper fingers, lobster salad, mac n cheese, peas n rice, potato salad . . . With desserts like coconut tart, pumpkin pie, guava duff, pineapple tart, sweet potato pie, pumpkin roll, Oreo cheesecake, and many, many more!

We are so thankful for the great family and friends.

Thanksgiving at Small Hope Bay Lodge

Wow! Another incredible Thanksgiving here at Small Hope. Our kitchen staff did an amazing job of preparing the most delicious meal, as well as 32 scrumptious desserts.

Most of all we enjoyed a wonderful holiday with friends and family. Some things I am thankful for: living in a gorgeous location, working with funny and friendly people, Jeff Birch (a hilarious and sweet boss),  great food, great company!

Now to the food. Here is what we had:

Pre-Thanksgiving at Small Hope Bay Lodge

Thanksgiving is almost here. And today I am looking out my window and giving thanks for the beautiful day we have today. The sun is shining, palms are swaying, waves gently lapping the shore. It's late November and many parts of Canada and the US are experiencing terrible cold weather already. But today, I am thankful to be in the Bahamas!

Thanksgiving on Andros Island!

Thanks! It's such a simple word, and one we use so often. However, on our day of Thanksgiving, we try to think of exactly what it is we are thankful for. As always friends and family are on the top of our list.

This year at Small Hope Bay Lodge our culinary crew prepared a magnificent feast for everyone. A delicious turkey with all the trimmings; stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and of course gravy and cranberry sauce. To complete this wonderful meal was the more than 25 desserts, many of which were prepared by returning chef Scott, who came specifically to lend a hand for Thanksgiving. There weren't any leftovers after this meal as the food was so good everyone went up for second and third helpings.

The guest list for the Small Hope Thanksgiving included of course our fabulous guests, our dive staff, Peter Douglas and his wife Gabrielle from ANCAT (Andros Nature Conservancy and Trust), friends from the island who brought their families along, and who could forget Small Hope's Commander in Chief Jeffrey Birch! It was a great night and we are all looking forward to next year and another great Thanksgiving
at Small Hope Bay Lodge!

Cheers!
