Irish Eyes Are Smiling

Banyan Air Bahamas Days garnered a lot more than just good publicity for Small Hope Bay Lodge. Sean, an Irish transplant to Ft. Lauderdale, found out about us at the promo day and decided to treat his daughter, Jenny, to a dive vacation when she visited from Ireland.

The two were a delight, entertaining the guests with songs and jokes at the bar (well, this was mostly Sean..Jenny just smiled a lot). Here is what they had to say about our diving and our atmosphere.

Small Hope Song

Val came to Small Hope with a song in her heart and her trusty guitar and she left us with a beautiful memento. After entertaining the guests with songs and poems at Earth Hour, she wrote this song about Small Hope and played it for Jeff Birch, whose father Dick founded the resort fifty years ago.

A Whale Shark of a Time

Divers and guests on the boat were delighted when a whale shark decided to buzz the boat. The divers were on their safety stop after a gorgeous dive on Whipwire Wall and a couple of them managed to look up in time to see the 28 foot fish. Luckily, Divemaster Loren was there with the camera to get this amazing footage!
