A Memorial, and Saying Goodbye to a Good Friend . . .

We lost a good friend recently. Carol Heimann has been coming with her husband and two kids to Small Hope for several years. The four of them are passionate divers and they loved diving as a family with us.

In December of 2015, Carol lost her battle with cancer. As per her wishes, her friends and family gathered here at Small Hope to spread her ashes at one of her favorite dive sites, the Blue Hole.

All of us at Small Hope are very touched and honored to share this moment with her family. And we are glad she will always be in a place she loved so much.

Thanks to Jeff and the Small Hope staff for helping me and my family fulfil my wife Carol's request in a beautiful way. Also for hosting my family again in classic Small Hope style, and making my extended family and friends who were there for the scattering feel welcome and part of the Small Hope family. We will certainly come back and visit Carol and Small Hope again soon.

Indeed, thank you for bringing us all together , and providing such a fitting farewell and memorial for Carol. I will cherish the time I spent there. Special thanks to Jeff for making us so welcome and putting together the memorial; to the dive team -- Dennis, Frederico, Jay, Brian, and Tony -- I can't believe we made it over the wall, couldn't have done it without your expert guidance and training; to Anna, for taking wonderful pictures and being such fun; and Teva -- another dark and stormy please! Amazing trip. I can't wait to see you all again soon.
