Great Fishing, Tasty Sashimi!

It's always a great day when the fishermen bring something back! It's even better when we get to cook it up for the whole resort. It's the best when it's fresh tuna, there's plenty of it, and we get sashimi!!!

Bahamas Fishing

Bone Fishing, Reef Fishing, Deep Sea Fishing... We Have It All At Small Hope Bay Lodge

Small Hope Bay Lodge on Andros Island is the perfect place to come for any type of fishing!

Deep Sea Fishing

Bone Fishing

Andros Island has hundreds of square miles of flats, home to permit, tarpon and especially bonefish. The island is widely known as the bonefish capital of the world.

Bonefish are considered the premier game fish by most avid fly fishermen. They accelerate faster and swim farther than any other fish you take on light tackle. The bonefish fights more doggedly than most fish twice its size and the ruthless, primitive instincts of this skittish creature leave no room for error!

Small Hope Bay Lodge offers bonefishermen of all experience levels the opportunity to fish the best spots on the island. Our experienced guides not only know the fish and the island but they know fishermen as well and what it is that will make their trip a great one. For more information on bonefishing at Small Hope Bay Lodge check out the bonefishing page on our website!

Reef Fishing

The world`s third largest barrier reef is located just off the east coast of Andros Island. It is abundant in snapper and grouper which are popular among fisherman out on the reef.

Deep Sea Fishing

The Tongue of the Ocean, a 6000ft drop located just beyond the reef is great for deep sea fishing. Among others fishermen often find dorado, tuna, sailfish, wahoo, and jacks.

WAHOO!

Gene and Andrea took a break from their diving vacation (they became certified Open Water divers at the beginning of their 10 day stay) to go out for a half day of deep sea fishing.

They brought in two barracudas and Andrea came in victorious by reeling in a good sized wahoo. Chef Scoot filleted the fish for dinner and Andrea fed all of the guests the fish dish that night!

Girls Week Out

Anne Marie and Nancy Martel brought their two daughters, Courtney and Zoey, along with grandma Annie to SHBL for a week packed full of activity! They went diving, snorkeling, fishing and on a land tour! Zoey even got a chance to direct part of the episode of UFO Hunters that was filming on location at Small Hope.

Here's what Nancy had to say about SHBL:

Small Hope Bay Lodge - what a wonderful place to sit back, relax, dive, snorkel, take an island tour, see the Blue Hole, read a book and let the kids run free safely! Awesome staff and food. It truly is a one of a kind place! Pin It Now!

Fishing Heaven

Harry Feldman brought five of his friends down to SHBL to do some fishing. Did they ever go fishing! Deep sea and bonefishing galore -- the boys came back tired and satisfied every day with stories to tell over cold Kaliks. Not all of the stories were "fish stories" since one of the boats brought back enough mahi mahi to feed the guests, who were delighted with the sashimi prepared by Renauldo.

Thanks guys! Pin It Now!
